TONY ELMAN founded Acorn Music in 1982, and has recorded over a dozen acclaimed albums.

Tony is the creator of Mokalé and the founder-director of the Bay Area Polyrhythm Choir.

He is an avid composer and singer-songwriter, and loves to share his enthusiasm for music.

Mokalé™ (MO-kuh-LAY) is a fun, magical journey into a world of rhythm and song. The Mokalé circle is bursting with overlapping waves of rhythm, chanting, stepping, clapping and singing. Each participant learns to embrace multiple rhythms which pulse through his/her body and continue around the circle. This “poly-rhythm” experience is a fantastic way to develop awareness, insight and extraordinary rhythm skills.
